3 Steps for Properly Storing Your Artificial Christmas Tree
Dec 26th 2018
After the Christmas season comes to an end, families have to, unfortunately, put away all the Christmas decorations. If your family has an artificial Christmas tree, there are some important steps that you should take into consideration when storing your tree. These few tips will help keep your artificial tree looking good year after year.
Step 1: Remove the Decorations
Even though you may not want to do this, it’s very important to make sure that you remove all the ornaments or other decorations you may have on your tree. This will prevent ornaments and branches and your tree from potentially breaking. If you need proper ornament storage, we recommend some of these storage bags. If your artificial tree is unlit, carefully remove the strands of Christmas lights checking for burned out bulbs. If your tree is pre-lit, take some time to check and see if there are any burned out bulbs.
Step 2: Disassemble the Christmas Tree
Once all of the decorations are removed from the tree, you can begin to disassemble your tree. Depending on your artificial Christmas trees size, you will break it down piece by piece starting at the top. When breaking down the Christmas tree, you will also need to gently fold in the branches. Make sure the branches are folded in as tight as possible so they won’t get caught in the storage bag before you zip the bag.
Step 3: Storing the Tree
It’s best to store your artificial Christmas tree at room temperature, in an area that will stay dry all year long. If possible, storing your tree horizontally is better. However, if you need to store your tree on the ground, keep it in a corner away from any activity that may occur. It’s always best to keep your tree in its stand while storing too. Properly storing your artificial Christmas tree like this will keep it safe and looking good when you bring it out next Christmas season.
If you are someone who wants to get the most out of your artificial Christmas tree, follow these storage tips so you can enjoy your tree year after year. Don’t store your tree in a cardboard box or garbage bags just to have your artificial tree get ruined. We recommend these ornament and artificial Christmas storage products if you need them!
