6 Ways to Enjoy Valentine's Day When You're Single
Jan 3rd 2018
Christmas is over, and now you’re seeing pink hearts, giant lip prints, and cartoon cupids cropping up everywhere you go. It can be a pretty sight, but for those living the single life, Valentine’s Day can often feel like exclusive club meant for couples only. However, this isn’t true. Yes, anybody can simply opt-out of celebrating the holiday, but why not take advantage of the holiday? Here are some easy ways to enjoy yourself this Valentine’s Day when you’re unattached
1. Take Yourself Out On A Date
Just because you don’t have a date for the evening doesn’t mean you can’t still go out and have an amazing time by yourself. Treat yourself to a great movie and dinner afterwards at your favorite restaurant. There’s no pressure to dress up (unless you want to), no fighting over which restaurant to go to, and you’ll save money on a card!
2. Celebrate “Gal-entine’s Day” With Your Friends
If you’ve got friends who are also single, this is a great time to spend an evening together celebrating Galentine’s Day (for you Parks and Recreation fans out there). Whether you rent a movie and order in some pizza or plan a fun activity like paint nite or bowling, it’s the perfect opportunity to make some great memories with people you love.
3. Babysit For A Couple Who Needs A Night Out
If you know a couple who has young children and never gets a night to themselves, offer to babysit while they have a nice evening out. You’ll be their hero, get to play with some adorable kids, and maybe even make a bit of pocket money!
4. Take Yourself Shopping
There are usually some good sales going on during Valentine’s Day you can take advantage of. If you’re someone who already loves the themed decor and colors of Valentine’s Day, this is a great time to pick up some adorable goodies for your home.
5. Pamper Yourself
During this love-themed holiday, show yourself some love! Book a spa day with a luxurious massage, get a manicure, take a yoga or kickboxing class, buy yourself flowers and your favorite chocolates, write love notes to yourself, take a long hot bath... the list can go on and on. This is the perfect day to completely spoil yourself.
6. Unplug
Social media is going to be a treasure trove of couple-y pictures and statuses. If this aspect of Valentine’s Day makes you roll your eyes, you might be better off taking a break from the social world for a day. After all, you have a lot of fun to be having instead!
