Alternative Christmas Tree Ideas

Oct 18th 2018

Christmas trees are a holiday staple. Once December hits, you’re sure to find one at most homes and businesses. But who says every home needs a traditional tree? Whether you’re low on space or you want to switch things up this year, here are a number of alternative Christmas tree ideas to try.

Christmas Chalkboard Decoration

Chalkboard Tree:

A simple and fun way to bring a tree into a classroom or play area, a chalkboard tree lets you decorate it however you’d like! Don’t like the way it looks? Simply erase it and start over! If you have extra chalkboard space, think about adding more holiday themed drawings or messages.

Card Holder:

What do you do with all the holiday cards you get? Put them in a pile on the kitchen table? Don’t let them go to waste! Instead of throwing your cards away, make a tree with them to showcase the love of family and friends! Take some string (or string lights) and put them up zigzag to form a tree like pattern. Add your holiday cards to the string and watch your tree fill up as Christmas nears!

Decorative Christmas Tree Shelf

Christmas Tree Shelf:

Do you have some spare shelf space? Empty shelves can be a bit of an eyesore, so why not turn them into a tree instead? Gather some green Christmas decorations, boxes, and dishes and arrange them on your shelves in a tree-like formation.

Artificial Christmas Wall Tree

Wall Tree:

Do you want a Christmas tree but don’t have much space? A  wall tree is the perfect solution for you! Wall trees are flat on one side, allowing them to be placed flush against the wall. Made of the same traditional materials that other artificial trees are made of, these trees only takes up half the space.

Artificial Christmas Upside Down Tree

Upside Down Tree:

As opposed to a regular tree, an  upside down tree has the bottom part as the narrowest part of the tree. Not only does this literally turn the Christmas tree concept upside down, but these trees also take up less floor space. Some can even be hung from walls or ceilings.

Any one of these trees will be a great way to add a personal touch this holiday season, but these aren’t the only options to choose from. Take a look at our  specialty trees section to see all of the options available for you!
