Fun Summertime Activities For You and Your Dog

Jun 7th 2018

Dogs love being outdoors in the summertime! With all the warm weather and sunshine, your four-legged friend will hardly ever want to be inside. But if you’re looking to do a little more than play fetch or walk around the block, here are a few different summer activities that you and your dog are sure to love.

Take A Road Trip

Who says you need to travel with a destination? You can bring your dog along for a ride anywhere. Roll the window down, and let your dog feel the wind and take in the sights and scents of the road. They won’t care whether it’s through the country roads or just a trip to the local gas station!

Visit The Dog Park

A dog park is a great way for dogs to socialize and have some fun without the need of leashes. You can bring your dog to a local dog park and let them run around and make some new friends. If you’d like, you can also invite some friends who have dogs of their own and turn it into a playdate for both you and your dogs!

Hike a Trail

Is your dog up for a little bit of adventure? A hike can be a great way for dogs to get a little exercise and a great experience as they explore some new places. Maybe they’ll even spot an animal or two!

Cool Off

It can get a little too hot in the summertime. On days like this when a simple water bowl won’t cut it, make sure to give your dog a way to cool off. You can take them out to a nearby river or beach and let them splash around a bit. Or if you’re not looking to leave the house, you can fill up a children's swimming pool in your yard for your dog to relax or play in. Your dog might even like to get sprayed with the hose or run through a sprinkler!
