Host the Perfect Valentine’s Day Party This Year

Feb 6th 2018

When people think of Valentine’s Day, many picture a candlelit dinner for two, but who says that Valentine’s Day always has to always be romantic? Why not mix things up this year and inviting people over for a Valentine’s Day party? Make it a party for couples or singles only. Or invite family, friends and their children to enjoy Valentine's Day together. Here are some decorating ideas to help you throw a party of your own this year.

Set the Scene with Lights

If you’re looking to quickly decorate, a great idea is to string up some lights. For example, take this set of 50 string lights on white wire, available with red lights or pink lights. These lights are perfect for a Valentine’s Day party, and can be placed anywhere in your home. String them across your ceiling, or use them to decorate a bookshelf or fireplace mantel. You can also mix them with some lit candles for a great look!

Let the Decor Do the Work

Decorating should be stress free so you can focus on enjoying the party. Bold decor does the work of adding a festive feel for you. Balloons are a simple, classic, can’t-go-wrong addition to any party. Add red, white or pink balloons to this “LOVE” balloon holder and string up some of this red and white metallic heart garland. You can also hang this beautiful 14” Alpine Chic Red Heart Shaped Jingle Bell Decorative Christmas Wreath where you would normally have a photo frame or mirror. It’s sure to catch the eye of anyone in the room. Now it’s time for finishing touches like this multi-colored “Kiss Me” confetti or craft ribbon.

Bring Some Love to the Table

Don’t forget about your tables! Add table runners and centerpieces to complete the look. Also, make sure your food is festive with Valentine’s Day-themed treats. Parents and children alike will both enjoy a display of heart shaped cookies, themed cupcakes, and other themed dishes.

Party Favors and Activities

Have a little fun with some party favors and activities. Bring out these red metallic beaded necklaces, headbands, and more to entertain your guests. You can even add a little humor with this pack of 6 “You’re All Fart” whoopee cushions. Make sure to make your party fun and eventful, especially if there are children around. A great activity is to have them help you decorate a lit Valentine’s Day tree with red and pink ornaments. You could even set aside some cut out paper hearts and markers so they can decorate their own Valentine’s to put on the tree branches.

These are just a few ideas to help set up your holiday party, but there’s plenty of other ways to decorate. You can find many more options and styles in our Valentine’s Day selection. From elegant and romantic to family-friendly and fun, you’ll be sure to find the decorations you need.
