Outdoor Christmas Decorations to Make Your Season Bright and Merry

Nov 13th 2023

Among Americans who celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, 43% put up outdoor decorations, according to a 2021 YouGovAmerica holiday season poll. Researchers found that roughly one-quarter of people start decorating the day after Thanksgiving, although about three in 10 of their neighbors have already finished the job by then.

If you’re among those who have yet to begin your outdoor decorating, you may be interested to see some of the newest and most popular outdoor decorations we’ve come across at Christmas Central.

Begin at the Door

Even if the cold winter winds make you turn tail at the front door, you still can set a few Christmas things at the entrance to welcome guests this holiday season. From muted and wintry to all-out Christmas-y, ease into holiday decorating just by changing your doormat!

While the door’s still open, hang a decorative Christmas wreath or swag. Choices include everything from pine door wreaths, including our realistic Real Touch™ wreaths, to colorful ornament wreaths.

Pre-decorated Christmas wreaths take the hard work out of decorating and a pre-lit wreath adds an extra warm glow to your entrance. On the other hand, undecorated wreaths have many fans. A plain wreath with full foliage makes the perfect starting point to add your own distinctive embellishments.

Let Your Christmas Spirit Fly

Hanging a Christmas flag is another simple way to share goodwill of the season. Christmas flags are bright, colorful, easy to use and easy to store. Plus, with styles that range from playful to religious to serene, you’re sure to find a Christmas house flag that matches your sentiments for the season.

No flag pole? No problem! Brighten a winter-slumbering garden, bring attention to a porch entry or line a pathway with Christmas garden flags.

Plan a Lawn Party

Ready to venture beyond your porch? The front lawn has become a holiday playground for a diversity of Christmas outdoor decorations.

Indulge in a little Christmas whimsy with a winter wonderland of snowmen, polar bears, penguins, reindeer, Santa and other North Pole pals. The fun continues with a range of colorful figures, from dinosaurs to nutcrackers to your favorite licensed characters. For a bit of nostalgia, add large, colorful, bright and durable blow mold Christmas decorations to your outdoor Christmas decor.

For Christmas lawn decorations that are more serene, grace your garden with elegant angels or tranquil deer. Add a single lighted spiral Christmas tree or make a miniature illuminated forest.

Of course, we can’t wrap up a discussion on outdoor decorations without mentioning all the bright and festive inflatables ready to help you spread some Christmas cheer. From an 8 foot tall inflatable snowman to blow-up tinsel balls, no matter the size of your yard, you’ll find plenty of fitting choices in Christmas inflatables.

Light Up the Night

Don’t forget the lights! For many people, outdoor Christmas decorations just aren’t complete without Christmas lights. Use all white lights, multicolor lights or combine the two.

There are so many outdoor lighting options to explore that the combinations are virtually endless. Expand your outdoor Christmas lights display with icicle lights on the eaves, snowfall lights in tree branches, net lights and trunk lights on trees and shrubs. In addition, bright and flexible rope lights make it easy to accent porch railings, posts, fences and walkways.

Make it Merry!

Once you start looking, we bet you’ll be dazzled by the colorful and varied selection of Christmas lights and lighted decorations available to add some Christmas spirit to your home.
